Wednesday, June 26, 2019

The preliminary hearing for a man charged in the deaths of three children has been moved to a later date. Branch County District Court officials say 21 year old Tyler Frye of Angola will now have his preliminary examination on August 8. He was originally scheduled to be in court June 25. A motion for adjournment was filed by Frye's attorney and granted.

Frye was arrested June 7 following a crash in Branch County's Algansee Township. Frye was driving his pick up south on Kelly Road around 6 P.M. when he rear ended a buggy, ejecting two adults and five children. Three of the children, 6 year old Lillian Graber, 4 year old Moses Graber and 2 year old Jacob Graber, all of Fremont, died from their injuries.

A woman and another child sustained serious injuries in the incident.
Frye was arrested on three counts of operating under the influence of liquor causing death; two counts of operating under the influence of liquor causing serious injury and one count of felony firearms.

Court officials say Frye's bond was reduced from $500,000 to $200,000. He was released after posting ten percent. Under the terms of the bond, Frye is not allowed to have any alcohol. He is also subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
