The workshop is for high school juniors and seniors with interest in pursuing a construction career and develop their knowledge of the wide variety of trades and professional occupations used by the construction industry.
The workshop will take place on Thursday, October 31, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Enterprise Center located on 907 S Wayne St. This is a one-day hands-on workshop for high school juniors and seniors to experience career opportunities in the construction trades and receive some “hands-on” experience from each participating trade. There will be hands-on demonstrations designed to encourage students to consider career options in the skilled trades. Students will be divided into groups of six or less and will rotate to the various stations.
Additionally, students will have the opportunity to listen to local construction employers share what type of skills and abilities needed and career pathways for each trade.
There will be several local construction companies participating to demonstrate seven different areas of construction careers.
