Thursday Afternoon Motorcycle Crash In DeKalb County

On Thursday afternoon at around 2:45 P.M. on County Road 64 in DeKalb County, 70-year-old Gerald Capehart II was riding his 2020 Honda Gold Wing 1800 where a dog ran onto the roadway in his path.

Capehart II struck the dog, causing the motorcycle to overturn and eject him. Capehart was then transported to Parkview Regional Hospital for treament as he suffered minor bleeding, contusions, and complained of shoulder pain. Further condition of Capehart is unknown at this time, as the crash itself remains under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

Assisting at the scene were Concord Fire Rescue, Parkview DeKalb EMS, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
