Wednesday, January 27, 2021

COLON TOWNSHIP – Investigators say alcohol and drugs may have been a factor in a two vehicle collision.

St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says at 6:30 PM Monday, a 53 year old Kalamazoo woman was driving north on M-66 near Marvin Road in Colon Township. She rear ended a farm implement that was being pulled by a tractor.

The woman was taken to the Bronson Methodist Hospital Emergency Room with non life threatening injuries. Deputies believe she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. The tractor driver, a 26 year old Centreville man, was not injured. Assisting at the scene were the Centreville Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance.
