Area Road Construction Projects Set To Begin on Monday
Friday, April 26, 2019

The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced that traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction on I-69 beginning this coming Monday. The restrictions on I-69 will allow contractors to complete bridge maintenance on multiple bridges in DeKalb and Steuben counties.

Contractors plan to begin work on the County Road 27 bridge over I-69 on Monday, April 29th. Lane restrictions, in both directions on I-69, will be in place between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. with no restrictions during daytime hours. The bridge work will also result in the closure of County Road 27 between County Road 34 and County Road 32 for up to three weeks.

Additionally, work on the I-69 bridge over the Northeastern Indiana Railroad tracks, just north of State Road 4 in Steuben County, is expected to begin mid-May. Contractors will complete a bridge deck overlay on this bridge during daytime hours with lane restrictions in both directions.

Restrictions on the I-69 bridges are expected to last through November.
