ANGOLA, IN - If you are traveling to Angola this morning and will be in the area of the monument, please be advised to expect some delays.
The Steuben County Commissioners have arranged for maintenance to be done to parts of the soldiers monument, which resides on Angola’s public square. The actual soldier figures on the monument will be removed in order to be repaired. For this to happen safely, traffic will be detoured around downtown on this morning (Friday, August 7th), from 6 a.m. - 10 a.m.
There will be an official detour in place for truck traffic. Local traffic will need to maneuver around the side streets.
The soldiers could be gone for as long as October.
