COLDWATER – The City of Coldwater has decided to cancel the 2020 Apple Fest and Craft Show.
In a posting on the City's website, officials say it was due to the current limitations on outdoor gatherings in Michigan, established by Governor Gretchen Whitmer's Executive Order, along with the health and safety concerns regarding COVID-19.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says in the posting they held out as long as they reasonably could before making this decision. Apple Fest is
Coldwater's largest annual event, with over 150 vendors and thousands attending, which would violate the current Executive Order. While these limitations may change in coming weeks, Baker says delaying this decision any longer would be unfair to the vendors, volunteers and sponsors who will be spending time and money in preparation for this event.
Baker says while the cancellation saddens Coldwater, they are excited for the smaller events, such as Entertainment Under The Stars and Hops On Monroe, that will continue as planned.
If you are a vendor who would like a refund for your registration fee, or have it applied to a future event, please contact the Coldwater Recreation Department by calling 517-278-8566.
