ANGOLA, IN - In an outpouring of kindness from the community in Steuben County and the Tri-Sate Region, the WLKI Cops for Kids Pie Auction had a record breaking day on Wednesday.
Over $79,000 in just 7 hours was raised during the event.
All of the money raised will stay in the community. Area emergency personal have worked with guidance counselors at Angola, Fremont, Hamilton, and Prairie Heights to identify school age kids who need some extra help this year. On December 9th,those kids will be treated to a special shopping night at either the local Walmart or Meijer store.
During the shopping trip they will receive all the warm clothing they need for the winter season, such as boots, hats, and gloves among other things. They’ll also walk away with at least one Christmas gift of their choice.
