AUBURN, IN - Indiana State Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a truck that caused more than $20,000 in damage at an I-69 rest area.
It happened between midnight and 8 a.m. last weekend on Saturday (March 18th, 2023), at the Auburn Rest Park.
Investigators say the truck drove through the grounds, striking the building's transformer and power meter.
The truck took off, but reportedly left behind a plastic gray air deflector that attaches along the bottom front bumper on certain Chevrolet trucks built between 2003 and 2007. Those trucks include Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe and Avalanche.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call Indians State Police Master Trooper Bryan Rumple at (260) 432-8661 or email brumple@isp.in.gov.
