(UNDATED) – Minor injuries were reported in a two vehicle crash.
DeKalb County Sheriff Brady Thomas says his deputies were sent out to a crash that happened at 9:47 AM Tuesday. Investigators determined that 82 year old Kenneth Chaney of Wakarusa was driving east in 2300 block of U.S. 6 when his vehicle went left of center, striking a vehicle and trailer, that was heading west. Chaney over corrected, lost control of his car, coming to rest in the north side ditch, and bursting into flames.
Everyone inside the Chaney vehicle got out before the fire started.
Chaney complained of back and neck pain and was taken to an area hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle, 44 year old Jude Anya of Monroe, Ohio, was not injured.
Assisting at the scene were the Waterloo Marshal’s Office along with the Waterloo and Corunna Fire Departments.
