(ORLAND) – A suspect is in custody following a shooting incident over the weekend.
Orland Town Marshal Bradley Kline says his office was notified at 12:30 AM on September 28 about a shooting incident that happened at 11:30 PM on September 27 at the intersection of Barry street and State Road 327.
The investigation determined that 18 year old Gentry Longfellow was a back seat passenger of a vehicle that was turning south onto State Road 327 from Barry Street, when Nathan Sanders fired a shotgun into the vehicle, striking Longfellow in the back.
Longfellow was taken to Parkview Hospital and was treated for his injuries.
Sanders was arrested on charges related to the shooting, and is being held in the Steuben County Jail.
Assisting in the investigation were the Steuben County and LaGrange County Sheriff’s Offices and the Indiana State Police.
