
(HICKSVILLE, OH) – Authorities say an earthquake was reported in Northwest Ohio, and felt in Northeast Indiana.
The United State Geological Society says that the earthquake, which was a magnitude 2.9, was reported at 6:46 AM Sunday, with an epicenter of one-half a mile southwest of Hicksville, Ohio. It’s depth was 9.5 kilometers.
Almost 60 individuals in the area reported that they felt the earthquake and that items in their homes rattled around, however there was no reported damage.
The USGS says the earthquake was felt in Pioneer, Ohio; up to Angola, Indiana; and along the Michigan-Indiana State Line.
Officials say there is no known fault lines in Defiance County, Ohio and the earthquake is unusual for this area.
