(BRONSON) - The City of Bronson has issued an official "Run Water Advisory" for all municipal water customers.

The advisory is in effect from Thursday evening, January 22 through Tuesday January 27. This is a proactive measure to prevent residential and commercial water service lines from freezing during the upcoming forecasted cold spell.

To ensure uninterrupted water service, Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman says customers should maintain a continuous stream of water, approximately the size of a pencil from one faucet in the home or business. You should utilize a bathtub faucet if possible as these are less likely to be accidentally turned off.

Mersman says taking this simple precaution can prevent the significant cost and inconvenience of frozen or burst pipes inside and outside the home. He says Bronson wants to ensure that residents have uninterrupted service throughout this cold snap.

The City recognizes that this measure results in increased water usage. Consequently, billing adjustments may be made on a case-by-case basis and will be based on the customer's previous water usage history.

Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the Bronson City Office during normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM, at 517-369-7334.
