(MORRISTOWN) - Authorities say a 17-year-old Mississippi girl has been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to carry out a school attack at Morristown Jr./Sr. High School.
Investigators identified the suspect as Melanie Little of Corinth, Mississippi. Court documents allege she conspired with 17-year-old Alexis Pickett of Rush County, Indiana, to plan an attack targeting the school.
According to authorities, the teens communicated through online messaging platforms and discussed weapons, explosives and a coordinated two-person assault. Investigators said Pickett recorded video footage of the school and shared it to assist with planning.
Officials said the alleged plot raised serious concerns for student safety. Pickett was arrested in January and faces charges including attempted murder, conspiracy and intimidation.
Little was taken into custody at her home in Mississippi and is being held without bond. Prosecutors plan to extradite her to Indiana to face charges related to conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder.
Authorities said Little has not yet been tried, and the allegations remain part of an ongoing investigation
