(UNION CITY, IN) - A high school secretary is facing felony charges after police say an investigation uncovered an illegal relationship with a minor student.
Alicia Hughes, 31, was taken into custody after her husband reportedly found her with an 18-year-old student and alerted police.
Investigators say Hughes was battered during the incident, which is also under investigation.
During the subsequent investigation, Union City officers say they discovered evidence Hughes had also engaged in a sexual relationship with a different student who was 17 at the time.
Investigators allege the sexual encounters with the minor occurred on at least five occasions, leading to five counts of child seduction under Indiana law.
Hughes is being held at the Randolph County Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
Officials have not released additional details about the timeline of the alleged conduct or said whether further charges are possible as the investigation continues.
