(BROOKLYN) - The Faster Horses Festival will not return to Michigan International Speedway in 2026.
Organizers announced the cancellation following a planned pause in 2025 for the popular country music festival, which had drawn tens of thousands of fans each summer since launching in 2013.
Known as the "Party of the Summer," the three-day event regularly attracted crowds of more than 40,000 people and featured performances by some of the biggest names in country music.
However, the festival has also faced safety concerns over the years. In 2021, four people died during the event, including three deaths linked to carbon monoxide poisoning. Local law enforcement and emergency responders have also reported a high number of alcohol-related incidents during festival weekends.
Organizers previously said the 2025 break would allow time to evaluate and improve the event.
At this time, no future dates have been announced for the festival's return.
