(UNION CITY) - The Village of Union City is thanking utility crews from several communities who helped restore power following the recent storm that heavily damaged the area's electric system.

Village officials say 26 linemen worked long hours to rebuild sections of the local power grid after the storm caused significant damage, including downed lines near Union Lake.

Union City's electric department was assisted by crews from Hillsdale, Coldwater, Sturgis, and Marshall. Together, the teams rebuilt portions of the system and restored the village's main electrical infrastructure.

Officials say many of the linemen spent several days away from home and worked with little rest in order to get electricity restored as quickly as possible.

Village leaders say the community is grateful for the help from neighboring cities and the dedication shown by the crews during the recovery effort.
