(BRANCH COUNTY) - A $900,000 resurfacing project on M-66 is set to begin Monday, April 13, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The work will cover about 3.2 miles from M-60 to S Drive South, along a corridor that connects parts of Branch and Calhoun counties.

MDOT says the project includes milling and asphalt resurfacing, new pavement markings, and sidewalk upgrades to meet ADA standards.

Drivers should expect single-lane closures and traffic regulators in the work zone while construction is underway.

Local traffic will still be allowed through the area, but motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible to avoid delays, especially during busier travel times.

The work is being handled by Lakeland Asphalt Corp. and is expected to wrap up by the end of July.
