(ANGOLA) - The Angola Common Council is expected to take another step Monday night toward creating a designated outdoor refreshment area, or DORA, in downtown Angola.

Council members are scheduled to hold a second reading of Ordinance 1800-2026 during their meeting at 7 p.m. at Angola City Hall.

The proposal would establish a DORA district allowing alcoholic beverages to be carried within approved boundaries during designated hours.

The council will also conduct a second reading of an ordinance updating prohibited turn regulations within the city traffic code.

Other business on the meeting agenda includes a first reading of a zoning map amendment tied to property along State Road 827 north of Eastland Crossing Section I. Council members are also expected to discuss city yard waste pickup policies following a request from a resident on West Pleasant Street.

Additional agenda items include a request for a contract time extension tied to the Pokagon Utility Project wastewater improvements, a request to terminate a tax abatement for Ventra LLC at 3000 Woodhull Drive, and approval of more than $909,000 in accounts payable vouchers.

The meeting will be livestreamed on the City of Angola's YouTube channel.
