The Steuben County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), in partnership with the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA), and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), invites everyone to attend the Agriculture Appreciation Day Parking Lot Cookout on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Angola USDA Service Center located at 1220 N 200 W, Angola, IN 46703.
This free, family-friendly event celebrates Steuben County's farmers, producers, and landowners who play an important role in managing our working lands and help protect our natural resources. It is an opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy a meal, and learn more about the conservation programs and services offered by your local SWCD, FSA, and NRCS. Everyone is welcome--whether you farm, own land, are interested in conservation, or simply want to show your appreciation.
Lunch will be provided by the Steuben County SWCD and will feature slow-smoked pulled pork, creamy homestyle mac and cheese, fresh sweet corn generously donated and prepared by Ridenour Farms, and soft-serve ice cream. The SWCD extends a special thank you to Tim Somerlott for providing the soft-serve ice cream machine for the event.
New this year, we're thrilled to feature local musician Sienna Fee, who will be performing from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Additionally, Johnathan Prosser owner of Prosser Ag LLC will have a drone on hand and will be available to answer questions about custom spraying, cover crop spreading, and seed sales.
Come hungry, bring your friends and family, and enjoy an afternoon of great food, live music, and a chance to celebrate the farmers, conservation partners, and community members who work every day to care for the natural resources in Steuben County.
