ANGOLA, Ind. (WLKI)- The Angola Police Department traded in patrol cars for something a little smaller and faster during the 2026 Elkhart Mayors Grand Prix.
Angola officers joined Mayor Martin's team for the event, taking part in some friendly competition while representing the city of Angola.
The department said the event provided an opportunity to step away from the usual duties of law enforcement and enjoy time centered around community spirit, competition and fun.
Angola Police said they were proud to represent the community alongside Mayor Martin and thanked everyone involved in making the 2026 Elkhart Mayors Grand Prix a success.
While officers are back behind the wheel of their patrol cars, the department says it is already looking forward to another opportunity to compete for the checkered flag.
The event brought together community leaders and participants for a day of racing and camaraderie, with Angola Police embracing the chance to connect with others in a different setting.
