KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WLKI)- The Kendallville Area Chamber of Commerce joined municipal leaders, community partners and regional stakeholders for the Northern Indiana Mayors Roundtable on Friday.
The monthly gathering was held at Cobblestone Golf Course in Kendallville. The roundtable brings together mayors and municipal leaders from communities across northern Indiana, along with state legislators and local organizations, to discuss regional opportunities and challenges.
Topics often include economic development, community improvement projects, funding opportunities, municipal operations and legislation affecting local governments.
Kendallville Mayor Lance Waters welcomed attendees and highlighted the city's connection to local manufacturing. Waters noted that Kraft Heinz products made in Kendallville include Kraft caramels, marshmallows and the colored marshmallows found in Lucky Charms cereal.
Bob Marshall of Kendallville Restoration Incorporated delivered the keynote presentation. Marshall discussed the organization's efforts to address blighted properties and improve neighborhoods through the restoration and demolition of deteriorated homes.
He also highlighted partnerships with organizations including the Impact Institute and Indiana Landmarks.
Kendallville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Nikole Albright said the Chamber values opportunities to connect leaders and organizations working toward stronger communities across northeast Indiana.
The Northern Indiana Mayors Roundtable rotates meetings among participating communities.
