FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WLKI) - Trine University is accepting applications from students interested in entering its surgical technology program in fall 2027.
The associate of applied science program is offered through Trine's Brooks College of Health Professions in Fort Wayne. University officials say the program can be completed in as little as 17 months.
The surgical technology program uses a hybrid format, allowing students to complete online coursework while participating in in-person courses, lab sessions and clinical rotations.
Trine says students begin receiving clinical exposure during their first semester and gain experience at multiple clinical sites. The university also works with regional healthcare providers to offer students clinical opportunities, professional mentorship and possible employment connections.
Kim Bennett, Trine's vice president for enrollment management, says the program is designed for students seeking a direct path into a healthcare career while maintaining flexibility through online coursework.
There is no application fee for the program. Trine says it also does not charge out-of-state tuition for students in the program, and financial aid may be available to qualifying applicants.
