THREE RIVERS (WLKI) - An off-duty St. Joseph County Sheriff's Correction Officer is facing charges following an August crash in Three Rivers.
Court records show 48-year-old Brandy Sue Renee Galarza was arrested after a crash that occurred August 4 on South Main Street.
Authorities allege Galarza rear-ended a pickup truck and then left the scene. The Three Rivers Police Department handled the investigation.
Galarza was arraigned late last week on a charge of operating while intoxicated and a Three Rivers city ordinance violation for leaving the scene of an accident.
The case was transferred after St. Joseph County judges recused themselves. Court officials say the matter will now proceed in Calhoun County District Court, with a pretrial conference to be scheduled.
The charges are allegations, and Galarza is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
