John Bowersox was an Indiana native who became one of the top silent movie actors in early Hollywood, and it was recently announced that his legacy will be solidified with a historical marker in his hometown of Garrett.
Approved by the Indiana Historical Bureau recently, the marker will be installed next year.
Bowersox was born and raised in the northeastern Indiana, and later went on to enjoy a successful stage career before starring in more than 90 Hollywood movies under the stage name John Bowers.
Bowersox died in 1936 following a career slump.
