Angola Snow Removal Ordinance to Facilitate Street Maintenance

ANGOLA, IN - Angola City Police are announcing that Angola’s Routine Snow Removal Ordinance will be in effect due to the amount of snowfall in the last 24 hours.

This requires owners, drivers, or operators of any vehicle parked on any street, alley, public square, or designated public parking lot move or cause to be moved the said vehicles each 24 hours to allow for snow removal.

The criteria for the issuance are based on a snow fall of more than 4 inches and the decision to enforce will be made by the Chief of Police and City Street Superintendent.

Procedures must be followed.

First Violation of the 24-hour period will be cause for a red tag being issued. Violation of the 24-hour red tag will be cause for removal. Towing and removal at owner’s expense.

The City of Angola encourages public cooperation so that safe and clear routes can be maintained during the winter season.

There is an ordinance for snow removal from sidewalks 12 hours after the event is over.

Angola residents and business owners are asked to please remove snow from your sidewalks in front of your residence or business.
